A Secret Service agent shamed the United States after a wild night of babes and booze that ended in an argument with a Colombian hooker over as little as $47.

"All this for just $47"

One of 11 elite agents assigned to ensure President Obama’s protection at a summit meeting in Cartagena, Colombia, was busted after his lady of the evening refused to leave his hotel room in the morning without her fee.

That woman was one of 11 hookers hired by the agents — and the only one who hadn’t left Cartagena’s swank Hotel Caribe, where White House staffers, members of the press and dignitaries are staying during the Summit of the Americas meeting, sources said. Continue reading…

If you want to impress your friends with your vast knowledge of financial matters, then here are the Latin translations of the script on the backside of a US dollar bill.

What do all the symbols and Latin words on a US Dollar Bill really mean?

“ANNUIT COEPTIS” means “God has favored our undertaking.” “NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM” translates into “A new order has begun.” The Roman numerals at the base of the pyramid are “1776.” The better known “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is “One nation from many people.”

The basic design for the cotton and linen currency with red and blue silk fibers, which has been in circulation since 1957, carries enough symbolism to drive conspiracy theorists to distraction. An all seeing eye? The darkened Western face of the pyramid? And of course, the number “13” abounds.

Thank Freemason Benjamin Franklin for these cryptic symbols, and watch Nicholas Cage’s historical adventure movie “National Treasure.” The balanced scales in the seal are certainly wishful thinking and a bit quaint if they refer to the Federal budget. Study the buck closely, because there are soon going to be a lot more of them around.

After failing to meet the milestones required by a loan agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy, Fisker Automotive, a startup making high-end hybrid electric cars, announced this week that it will stop work on a factory in Delaware and lay off 26 people. Fisker’s troubles could prove disastrous not only for Fisker, but for A123 Systems, which supplies the automaker with lithium-ion batteries.

The events raise the prospect of two failures at a time when the DOE loan and grant programs are under scrutiny after the bankruptcy of companies that it had funded: Beacon Power, Ener1, and most famously, Solyndra, a solar-panel maker that received a $535 million loan as part of a federal loan-guarantee program. Harley-Davidson is nothing if not a manufacturer with a respect for its own heritage and traditions. But the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based motorcycle maker has chosen to break with tradition this year, by introducing two new models in the dead of winter, months earlier than their usual rollout. Fans of the status quo need not be concerned, though, because the breaking of new ground stops with the timing.

The new models are variants of the big V-twin designs Harley has been cranking out for decades, with styling and graphics strong on heritage but aimed at new and younger audiences. Those are riders critical to a company whose owners are largely aging baby boomers.
